the past 3 months...

if anyone is still reading this...im so sorry I haven't posted for 3 months!

My blog has been on my mind, but so much has happened that I never knew quite when to start again...

so, here are some highlights! And if you want more details, you'll just have to call or send me an email!

-Winter break was AWESOME! I went to Brussels, Bruge, Amsterdam, Paris and Grenoble, then 12 days in Italy. Some of the traveling was on my own, in Italy and Paris I met up with study abroad people. Favorites: the Van Gogh Museum, biking and being in the French Alps in Grenoble, the city of Rome, Pompeii, Pizza and Gelato, Belgium waffles....wow.

-I was back at work a little over a week and my parents came to visit! We spent a couple of days in Athens and then came here, to Thessaloniki. It was really wonderful to show them around, and to reinterpret the culture I live in through their eyes.

-Work has been good. I went through a bit of a rough time...feeling a little bored and getting into fights with some of the kids. I talked this over with some of the staff here, and I'm just getting deeper into knowing the kids, and they know how to push my buttons and vise versa. I try to be strict when I need to be, and relax with the kids that are doing well in school. But not studying when some of the kids are getting Ds is just not ok with me... Also, to combat boredom I've been knitting, listening to stand up comedy, journaling, and other simple things I can do anywhere to pass the time.

-Last weekend I went to Carnival in Xanthi, Greece's second largest carnival party. It was INSANE! I stayed with a couchsurfer, and their were 6 of us who stayed on mattresses in a common room of a dorm there. I went out all night, slept some, then got up to be in the parade! I have never been to such a huge party, with people dressed up, drinking, blowing whistles, throwing confetti...wow

-I'm currently sick with a fever, thus have time to catch up on my blog. I hope to feel better soon...I'm suppose to go to Egypt on Thursday...AH!

-Scatoulis (my cat!) is still a kitten...but a very big one! He needs to go to the vet soon....

All for now! Hope to do a better job of posting

Allie
